As firefighters working 48-hour shifts, our meals are often interrupted by fires and other emergencies.

In 2010, I developed a handmade granola in the firehouse. 

This convenient, delicious snack was taken on emergencies to provide quick energy that sustained us for the long haul.

What started as a snack turned into a popular breakfast and firehouse favorite.
